BS Tip From Daun

Alright, let’s talk about time! Yes, we all have ran behind schedule and been sidetracked at least once. Honestly, I admit that I have failed with my scheduling at the beginning as a model! Yes hunti, she models too, just not as much as she used to, but the girl can strike a pose and rip the runway if needed yaaaaaaaaaaaaaassss! However, it’s not about me, more so about me sharing with you all the lesson I learned about timing and hopefully it can help you all in regards to know your next photo shoot, model casting call, and/or go see. You’re rushing into the building and now your fly outfit has shifted, hair might be out of place (ladies y’all can relate), fellas your cool walk has now turned into a fast pace, and now y’all are out of breath! Listen, now you’re in the building and asking other models “What’s the sequence?” “How do they want us to pose at the end of the runway?” or “Can I leave right after I walk? I have another event I have to attend ?”  Just be better than me because I swear some people don’t tell you the good stuff. So listen models, we have a lot of preparation when it comes to getting ready and my main tip is this: the night before, pack everything ahead of time. I cannot stress this enough! (Please refer to Model 101 for the necessities for your model bag.)   Things to take into consideration when it comes to scheduling your busy modeling life, please see below:

  • Travel Time

  • Hair & Make-Up

  • Block out your schedule at least an extra 30 mins before your next event

  • Try not to stack your schedule where your schedule is overlapping

Hopefully, some of these tips can help you in regards to your road to success in the fashion industry.  Before you finish this read, please know that every event and invite that you receive you don’t have to attend them. You move on God’s timing and what He has for you will always be for you! Please don’t stretch yourself out like bubble gum because you will be at the right go-see, model casting call, and fashion show at the right time! Just make sure you’re properly prepared with your consideration of others time. Don’t rush the process, enjoy the journey!
